About the Role
As an integral member of our structural and mechanical teams, your main role will be the preparation of drawings such as the layout, modeling and development of general arrangements. This includes buildings, industrial structures, infrastructure, equipment and piping. Travel to job sites may be required on a short-term basis for field measurements, condition inspections, or construction administration and management support.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
Five to seven years of experience relevant to design of buildings and industrial structure and facilities (applicants with more or less experience are also encouraged to apply).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Plant 3D, Navisworks or other similar software packages.
Strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
Interpersonal skills and willingness to work collaborate with a growing team.
Also,
A demonstrated ability to apply design criteria, industry standards, and client specifications is considered as asset, but not required.
Experience working in a steel fabrication shop is considered an asset but is not required.
Experience in setting up and using Revit for large industrial facilities would be an asset.
Formal education in design and drafting is an asset.
A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants is considered an asset.
A valid BC driver’s license is considered an asset but is not required.
