About the Role
As an integral member of our structural department, your main role will be the assisting our senior engineer in preparation of design (concept and detailed), computer modeling and preparation of drawings. This includes residential and commercial buildings, industrial structures, infrastructure, dams and bridges. Travel to job sites may be required on a short-term basis for field visits, inspections, or construction and project management supports.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
EIT with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree is considered an asset.
Minimum of three years of relevant experience
Capable of developing creative yet practical solutions and is open-minded to alternative solutions.
Working knowledge of codes and standards such BCBC, NBC, CISC, CSA (S16 and A23.3), AISC, ACI, ASCE
Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD and RISA. Experience with advanced software such as ABAQUS and ANSYS will be considered as an asset, but not required.
Familiarity with construction methods
Strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy
Member in good standing of Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or the ability to become one within a year
Communication skills, both oral and written
Awareness of Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) Policy and standards
Also, a demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants is considered an asset. A valid BC driver’s license is considered an asset but is not required.
